Nexstar Media Group, America’s largest local television and media company with 200 broadcast stations, is seeking a RESEARCH MANAGER for its Philadelphia station (WPHL-TV).
The Research Manager assists to maximize station revenue opportunities.
- Overseeing, analyzing, and maintaining all research information and functions from Nielsen, ComScore, Wide Orbit Media Sales, Scarborough, NLTV, and other tools that support and enhance the sales and marketing effectiveness of our station in the marketplace
- Provide valuable research data to Sales, News and Promotions departments. For example, compiling and distributing relevant ratings facts, trends and analysis, ratings successes, and challenges
- Develop creative presentations, trending reports, ratings estimates, competitive analysis, quantitative analysis and support the sales/marketing efforts of the station
- Prepare inventory and performance reports for sales managers within deadlines
- Gather and distribute to the sales staff articles on advertising and/or industries that advertise with us to keep them up to date
Requirements & Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience (3 years) in Marketing, Communications, or Statistics
- Minimum of 2-3 years of media research experience. Knowledgeable about media related software including Wide Orbit, and other comparable software
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, Nielsen, ComScore, Scarborough, Media Monitors and other broadcast/digital industry research tools needed
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Problem-solving and deductive reasoning skills
- Clear and concise communications both through writing & presentation skills
- Organizational skills for daily responsibilities & special projects for sales and marketing team
- Comfortable presenting alongside a team of Account Executives and Management on key client meetings
