Account Executive

Account Executive Position:
The Account Executive is responsible for achieving sales goals from new and renewing customers. Account Executives identify marketplace opportunities, prospect and engage new customers, develop proposals and effective advertising campaigns, manage the contract process, and ensure their customers’ accounts payables are kept current.
The Account Executive uses professional sales techniques, provides exceptional customer service and account management, and develops long term relationships that grow the business. This is a full-time position.

Essential Functions and Expectations:
• Meet and exceed individual and team sales goals on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis
• Prospect and develop new customer relationships and persuasively communicate strategies for meeting customer’s advertising needs
• Develop innovative proposals using guidelines from management
• Deliver strategic sales presentations
• Work closely with customers to understand their business objectives
• Timely follow up, negotiations and revisions on proposal to win contract
• Partner with Charting, Creative, Operations and Administrative staff to ensure on-time and effective campaigns
• Facilitate all aspects of the customer’s account management, in coordination with other cross-functional departments
• Oversees relationship from start to finish and ensures customer appreciation and satisfaction, including thank you gifts, bonus opportunities, reporting, end of campaign summaries, etc.
• Making actionable and insightful recommendations for new campaigns, upsells and renewals
• Ability to resolve sales-related or other issues relating to customer management
• Organizes strategic customer meetings and visits
• Negotiates fees or services with clients with management approval
• Own and manage customer’s contract process
• Assist in the resolution of issues related to billing and collections
• Inventory market rides based on customer needs
• Maintain accurate customer information and sales activity (CRM)
• Create goal-oriented sales promotions for current and potential customers and team members
• Identify available inventory and proactively and strategically market it to customer base
• Attend regular networking functions to grow their customer base
• Fluent in industry terminology and best practices and in all Geopath audience location delivery measuring and reporting tools
• Completes other duties as assigned or requested

Work Experience
• 2-6 years of progressive sales experience
• Demonstrated track record of business-to-business sales experience strongly preferred
• Media sales experience preferred; residency within the territory preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Other Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, experience
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Detail oriented
• Team player with an eye on the company’s bottom line
• Driven and energetic
• Self-starter with a diligent work ethic and demonstrated flexibility
• Can effectively cope with change; can shift gears comfortably
• Skilled in working independently and following through on assignments with minimal direction
• Able to multi-task and stay calm under pressure
• Skilled in working closely with customers to develop relationships in order to grow accounts
• Ability to communicate rationale in a compelling, concise manner
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills including delivering effective presentations
• Up selling and leveraging business from new and established customer relationships
• Can negotiate skillfully in tough situations with both internal and external groups
• Knows how businesses work; knowledgeable in current and possible future policies
• Have a collaborative and professional style with coworkers to achieve shared goals
• Experience with qualitative and quantitative research methods
• Outstanding written and oral communication skills
• Extensive industry contacts
• Ability and willingness to travel and to meet with client base and prospective customers both locally and nationally
• Proficient in the use of available computer tools and open to learning new systems

Other Requirements
• Able to travel outside of the office at least 50% of the time for meetings and industry events.
• Ability to travel to accounts in other states if necessary.
• Access to a reliable vehicle and a valid driver’s license.
