Simon Public Relations Group Wins Best of Show, Eight Awards at 2011 Pepperpots

Simon Public Relations Group, Inc., with offices in Philadelphia and Cherry Hill, received top honors at the 43rd Annual Pepperpot Awards, hosted by the Philadelphia Public Relations Society of America (PRSA). The Agency was awarded “Best in Show” for its achievement in research, and eight additional awards including winning entries in the categories of media relations, internal communications, community relations and multicultural communications.

The Pepperpots were created to recognize best in class PR campaigns and tactics from the Philadelphia region. Over 200 PR executives from Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware gathered at the Franklin Institute to recognize the award-winning campaigns on December 6.

“We are honored to be recognized by a jury of our peers for outstanding public relations programs we delivered to our clients in 2011,” said Lisa Simon, President of Simon Public Relations. “We are so appreciative of the great opportunities made possible by some of the region’s top corporate citizens.”

Simon Public Relations received the following awards: Best in Show and a Pepperpot (first-place) in the Research category for Crossroads Hospice, “Are Physicians and Patients on the Same Page About Hospice?” The Agency received Pepperpots for its campaigns in the categories of Internal Communications for Dow Chemical: “Dow’s Team U: Employee Volunteers Get Back in the Game;” Media Relations for the Philadelphia Mummers Parade: “Ringing in the New Year with a Family-Friendly Tradition;” and in Multicultural Communications for PNC: “PNC Black History Month Sets the Stage for Philadelphia’s 1860’s Civil Rights Story.”

In the tactic categories, Simon PR received Pepperpots in the Editorial/Op-ed category for Crossroads Hospice, “Alzheimer’s and Dementia Awareness Week: Advice for Caregivers Coping with Grief;” in the Hard Copy Media category for Wawa Welcome America!:“Celebrating America’s Birthday in America’s Birthplace,” and in the Special Purpose Publications category for the Pennsylvania Real Estate Investment Trust (PREIT): “One Practical Tool: Crisis Communications Guidelines for PREIT Shopping Center Properties.” The Agency also received a second-place Ladle in the Community Relations category for Shire Pharmaceuticals: “Shire’s The Great Food Fight!: High School Heroes Attack Hunger. ”
