The 2009 ADDY Awards were celebrated on Thursday, March 5th at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. For one grand evening, more than 600 of the region’s top advertising minds gathered to recognize the creative talent within the industry.
This year’s entrants included advertising/marketing and interactive agencies, speciality firms, film/broadcast houses and design and production companies. The high-caliber entries made it a challenge for the panel of distinguished judges to choose the winners.
For the second year in a row, Neiman Group dominated the ADDYs with 19 gold and 6 silver awards. In second place was 1 Trick Pony with 11 gold and 9 silver. Other top winners of the night included The Star Group/M&M (11 gold, 3 silver), Mangos (8 gold, 6 silver), Tierney Communications (7 gold, 9 silver), and Brownstein Group (4 gold, 6 silver).
Neiman Group won “Best of Show,” as well as “Best of Print” and “Best of Public Service.” Mangos was awarded with the “Best of Mixed Media” category, 1 Trick Pony with “Best of Interactive,” and Sleeping Tree Films with “Best of TV.”
Other gold award winners this year included Holton Sentivan + Gury, LevLane, Paragraph Inc, D4 Creative Group, The Archer Group, Lorel Marketing Group, AgileCat, David Sacks Studio, Heirloom, klip collective, MRM Worldwide, Neo-Pangea, O3 World, Razorfish, Shooters Post and Transfer, Sleeping Tree Films, studio h and The Zucconi Idea Agency.
The ADDY Awards Competition is the industry’s largest and most representative competition for creative excellence. Sponsored by the American Advertising Federation (AAF), the awards are designed to honor advertising excellence and to cultivate the highest standards in the industry. The three-tiered competition starts at the local event with the Philly Ad Club and the 210 AAF member clubs around the nation. The local Gold winners advance to the 14 competitions regionally. Winners of the District competition then advance to the National competition.
