The 2008 ADDY Awards Celebration was held on Thursday March 6th at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. For one majestic night, more than 600 of the region’s advertising “Who’s Who” came out to recognize the creative and ingenious talent within the industry.
The entrants of this year’s competition included advertising/interactive agencies, specialty firms, film/broadcast houses and design/photography. The entries were exceptional with such high quality that it was difficult for the panel of distinguished judges to choose the best creative executions.
This year, Neiman Group was the lead ADDY winner with 10 gold and 13 silver awards. In second place was One Trick Pony with 10 gold and 4 silver. Other big winners of the night included: Paragraph, Inc. (9 gold, 9 silver), Salt & Pepper (9 gold, 5 silver), The Star Group/M&M (8 gold, 7 silver), Brownstein Group (7 gold, 12 silver), and Mangos (4 gold, 7 silver).
In the “Best of” category, the awards went to Holton Sentivan + Gury for Best of Show, One Trick Pony for Best of Interactive, Salt & Pepper for Best of TV, and Paragraph, Inc., for Best of Arts and Science. One Trick Pony and Brownstein Group each won two “Best of” with One Trick Pony winning Best of Interactive and Best of Sales Promotion, and Brownstein Group for Best of Print and Best of Public Service.
Other gold award winners this year included 3601 Creative Group, Caspari McCormick, D'Amico Studios, Inc., Deardorff Associates, eCity Interactive, Holton Sentivan + Gury, NFL Films, PointRoll, Princeton Partners, Inc., The Archer Group, and Tierney Communications.
The ADDY Awards competition is the industry’s largest and most representative competition for creative excellence. Sponsored by the American Advertising Federation (AAF), the awards are designed to honor advertising excellence and to cultivate the highest standards in the industry. The three-tiered competition starts at the local event with the Philly Ad Club and the 210 AAF member clubs around the nation. The local Gold winners advance to the 14 competitions regionally.
