An important part of the Philadelphia Advertising Club's overall mission is to develop and retain creative talent in the Greater Philadelphia region. We help accomplish this goal with our Education Committee which has spearheaded a variety of programs including: our Speaker's Bureau and traveling panel groups, our mentoring program, our college-partnering program and our scholarship program. Now with a web page devoted to Internships, we hope to promote a stronger connection between agency and area students.
Mentoring Program
Every student PAC member is given a personal mentor on the account, creative, media or broadcast side. The student and personal mentor develop a relationship through e-mails and phone calls.
Panel Sessions: Bringing professionals & students together.
With another part of our outreach program, we send teams of professionals to various colleges in the Greater Philadelphia region. Each of the four panelists describes the scope of his/her work in various disciples and outlines some of the skills required to succeed in specific functions. Following the panel session, students are given an opportunity to direct specific questions to each panel member.
Scholarships
The PAC Foundation awards two scholarships each year. To be eligible, students must be attending a four-year degree-granting institution, offering degrees in Advertising, Marketing or Communications. Students must be a junior majoring in one of the above disciplines. The PAC board invites each school to select a finalist based on merit, need and communication skills. The PAC Foundation Awards Selection Committee then reviews each candidate, personally interviewing all finalists. Contact: PAC@association-cba.org
Student Workshops
In early spring, student members will be invited to a special workshop. Watch for details.
