6abc's Cathy Gandolfo retires after 36-years

6abc’s Cathy Gandolfo has retired. Born and raised in Philadelphia, she went to high school and college in Philadelphia, and she spent her entire 36-year broadcasting career working for the #1 news station in Philadelphia – Action News! But after more than one-third of a century of political conventions, mob trials, and blizzards, Cathy has unplugged the microphone for good.

The Broadcast Pioneers Hall of Famer offered these thoughts on retirement – “I've been privileged to cover some incredible events and, more often, just ordinary stories of importance to our viewers. I have always tried to be objective, fair, and accurate and I hope that I've served you well. I've been honored to work at the best television station in America with the finest group of professionals anywhere; people who are not only my colleagues and coworkers, but my friends. So I thank you for watching Action News and for watching me all of these years.”
