Eighty-eight years on the Parkway, and the 6abc / Boscov's Thanksgiving Day Parade is better than ever! This year’s party on the parkway features star-studded performances and a special appearance by Good Morning America’s Sam Champion!

Action News’ Dave Roberts and Cecily Tynan return to host, and once again, the broadcast will be produced in stunning High-Definition. Joining Champion in the stellar line-up of stars is hip hop sensation Sean Kingston; country music star and former Idol finalist Josh Gracin; singer and star of “Akeelah and the Bee,” Keke Palmer; Miss America Lauren Nelson, and Philadelphia’s own, singer Bianca Ryan. ABC daytime stars Kamar de los Reyes and John-Paul Lavoisier, from One Life To Live, will also be celebrating the holiday on the parkway.

Also rockin’ the parkway will be Dancing With the Stars dance pro Brian Fortuna; Idol finalist and member of the national touring production of “Rent,” Anwar Robinson; disco divas Norma Jean and Luci Martin (formerly of Chic); the cast of Disney’s High School Musical: The Ice Tour; The Drexel University Gospel Choir; and a performance from the hit Broadway musical, Peter Pan. Joining the stars from stage and screen will be the Philadelphia Eagles Cheerleaders, 16 high school marching bands, and thousands of singers, dancers, and musicians from across the United States. Plus, the most magical place on earth comes to Philadelphia as Mickey Mouse and all your favorite friends from Walt Disney World Resort and Disney Cruise Line make a special holiday appearance.

Joining Miss America will be Miss America’s Outstanding Teen, Caitlin Brunell, plus Miss Pennsylvania’s Rachel Brooks, Miss New Jersey’s Amy Polumbo, and Miss Delaware’s Brittany Dempsey.

The 3½-hour telecast kicks off LIVE at 8:30am on November 22nd on 6abc, and will be syndicated in markets from Binghamton, NY to Raleigh-Durham, NC.

It all adds up to another highly anticipated hometown tradition that also features the hometown team. Familiar faces from the Action News team join in on the fun along the parade route, with LIVE reports from beginning to end, and all points in between.

Along with enjoying the parade festivities, families are encouraged to help support the 6abc Holiday Food Drive by bringing a can of food to the parade, and dropping it off at Eakins Oval inside the Expo Tent. Here they can enjoy food, fun, and free giveaways at the Campbell's Winter Wonderland Expo Tent. The Boy Scouts will also be collecting donations along the parade route. Sponsors appearing in this year's tent will be Campbell’s Soup Company, Boscov's Department Stores, Acme Markets, Local Dodge Dealers, Hershey’s Kissmobile, The Franklin Institute, Radio Disney, Starbucks, and Hatfield Quality Meats.
